Unattended Moments

Taizé

Taizé, in south Burgundy, France, is home to an international, inter-denominational community. The brothers of Taizé welcome thousands of visitors a year from all over the world. I spent a week there in August 2005, and found it a wonderful place for reflection and spiritual refreshment. The grounds of the community are beautiful, with a very peaceful area around the lake at the Source St Etienne. That was one of my favourite places to go and sit, as well as the small church in the Village itself. Just a little way along the road to the south is another small village, Ameugny, which also has a lovely Romanesque church.
