Music
I love listening to music, and enjoy a wide range of different kinds. I keep running out of space for my CD collection...
Classical - this is the music I was most familiar with as a child. My Dad had a collection of LPS, and my parents often took me out to concerts. I also learned to play piano and violin, and for a while I had singing lessons - I played in a youth orchestra for a while, and joined the choral society when I was at university.

Celtic-influenced - when I started buying music that wasn't classical or soundtrack, it was Celtic music that I turned to first. I was about 12, around the same time that I switched from cassettes to CDs - one of my first CDs was a Clannad album :) It's still one of my favourite kinds of music.

Music of the 60s and 70s - although my era is really the 80s and 90s, I tend to find the earlier music more interesting. Some of it (Abba, the Beatles) is music I remember hearing as a child, but much of it I discovered in my late teens / early 20s.

Other - so yes, I do like some later music too ;) I'm also particularly interested in Jewish music, and admire artists such as Noa (an American-born Israeli singer) and Sheva (an Israeli group formed of Jewish and Palestinian musicians) for the ways in which they have spoken out for peace in the Middle-east while creating great music.
