I saw this ballet aged about 5; I loved the music and the melancholy fairy-tale story. I discovered it anew through Matthew Bourne's powerful production, with a different psychological twist to the story.

Phantom of the Opera - Andrew Lloyd Webber
I fell in love with the haunting and tragic story of the Phantom when I heard this musical on cassette aged about 10. I've twice seen the stage production in London, which was one of my most memorable birthday treats.

The first play I remember is Twelfth Night, performed by a travelling theatre at primary school. It remains a favourite, alongside Hamlet.
