Blending traditional Irish, new age and pop influences, Clannad have produced many beautiful albums. I first heard Clannad in the late 80s - my brother was a fan, and I also got to listening to their music.
Enya
I discovered Enya's music with Watermark (again through my brother). Her haunting, melodic music showcases her ethereal voice, often using multi-tracking to create an choral effect.
The Phantom of the Opera - Andrew Lloyd Webber
I fell in love with this music as a child, and it remains far and away my favourite of Andrew Lloyd Webber's compositions.
Loreena McKennitt
With haunting lyrics and compositions, each of Loreena McKennitt's albums creates a spiritual journey in music. Her music explores different cultural traditions and influences, especially celtic. I discovered her music through 'Dante's Prayer', and she has become possible my favourite artist of all.
Mozart
Composer of what must be some of the most beautiful music in the world, both instrumental and operatic. There are so many pieces I love, it is impossible to name them all here.
