Random Facts
1. I was born at 4.30pm on a Friday.
2. I have two brothers, one lives in the USA and the other in the Philippines.
3. My brothers are 8 and 10 years older than I am.
4. I have been a vegetarian since I was 4 (and it was my decision). My reason for becoming vegetarian at that age was primarily emotional - I knew that meat was dead animals, and the last straw was discovering that rabbits were made into meat (we lived near a battery rabbit farm, and I asked what happened to all the rabbits...).
5. When I went to primary school I was the only vegetarian in the school, and I had to take my own meal to be cooked (no packed lunches).
6. I have been a Quaker since I was born.
7. I have worked as an admin assistant, but I would like to be a librarian.
8. I can play the piano, the recorder and the violin.
9. I took associated board violin and piano exams up to Grade 6.
10. And singing exams up to Grade 4.
11. I have worn glasses since I was 11.
12. I didn't go to secondary school, I was home-educated.
13. I went deaf when I was 4, but got better when I stopped drinking milk.
14. The only jewellery I regularly wear is a ring with a celtic-knot pattern (from Iona) on the middle finger of my left hand.
15. Of the continents other than Europe, I have visited North America, Asia and Oceania, but not Africa, South America or Antarctica.
16. I have a niece who was named after me (though her name is spelled differently).
17. I also have a nephew named Adam.
18. My favourite things to spend money on are books, cds, and dvds.
19. I still have my first doll which my mother made for me when I was born. Her name is Louby-Lou.
20. I started learning to drive in November 2005.
21. I have visited hospital as a patient 3 times - once for stitches (cut above my eye), one X-ray (sprained arm), and once after a skuba-diving accident.
22. Besides English, I can speak a little (rusty) French and German, and read biblical Hebrew. I also know a few words of Russian.
23. When I was a child, I wanted to be a writer.
24. I tend to be a perfectionist about things that I do.
25. I have always been shy.
26. My astrological sign is Gemini, and my sign in the Chinese zodiac is the snake.
